Christopher was diagnosed with Attention Deficit and an Anxiety Disorder five years after he began taking lessons. Marie knew he was "challenged" and astutely made adaptations to keep his interest and skill level high, while at the same time never lowering her standards. As a result, she instilled in him a love of music that kept him committed for another five years.
