Rates and Policies

1. Lessons are taught year round. A 3-4 week break occurs after the second lesson in December and resuming after the Near Year guaranteeing all students 2 lessons in December and 4 in January. 2. Marie understands that finding a good “fit” and the most productive relationship with a teacher/partner is of paramount importance. She highly recommends that you take her up on her complimentary invitation to meet with her, your child and family (or if you are an adult, with you) to spend a half hour to an hour or so getting to know each other a bit. 3. All lessons are a minimum of 1 hour at the rate of $50.00 per hour making monthly tuition $200.00. This provides 4 lessons per month and is payable in advance on the last week of the month before for the following month. 2 and 3 hour lessons are available by invitation. Also twice a week lessons will be offered if suitable. If your piano lesson day is a Wed. , for example, and there happen to be 5 Wednesdays in the month, several options are available: most frequently that 5 th lesson is either skipped, or taught as a make-up at no extra charge for a missed lesson due to sickness, vacation or whatever. 4. Make-ups. Marie will bend over backwards to provide make-ups, her schedule allowing, provided at least 24 hours notice of cancellation is given. No make-up will be offered with less than 24 hours notice, UNLESS – there is a weather/snow impossibility of arriving safely, or a student has a fever at the last minute. Please do not come Ill or with fever. Happy to make that up with less than 24 hours notice. If Marie is not available, she will schedule a make-up for you. 5. When planning vacations, holidays etc. Please provide cancellations ASAP so rescheduling can be easy. 6. Please, due to health issues, do not come with perfume, cologne or hand lotion. 7. While parents and family would never be uninvited to observe lessons, as a matter of policy, Marie prefers to teach without the distraction for the student, of others being present. But if once in awhile you’d like to sit in, just let her know – no problem!
